during darma lesson today, teacher ho chai begin the lesson or a dialogue with our class with "there will be time for everything. 一切皆有时" when it's time for something to take place, naturally it will. and continue asking us, but excluding me -.-"', if we have any question to ask... there is some few question in my mind... like how can i achieve ever-lasting mindfulness?
he shared with us about the answer he wrote when his university teacher gave a question on 'is there god or no god in this world?' he wrote a rhetorical question, 'if there is no god, where do the logical reasoning comes from? where does the ability of reasoning come from?" he was given and 'F' for stating this as the reason from the teacher was 'it is unreasonable to pass to essay.'
also, during the dialogue, he says that never trust and follow your feelings and reasoning. i agree as i think that feelings, instinct and emotion is only just for just a short period of time. reasoning, theory, logics and facts can be overturn as there will be always be new things along with time. both are just a period of ignorance and will change with time.

Today was a fun day. =)
almost have my hair cut in school... miss a lesson of A maths today... and i have to say for now, Mrs Liew make me love maths, although i never loathe it ever before, even it was miss tan teaching. Morever, given me a chance of being a genius, i would definitely choose to be a MATHEMATICS genius... wonder will mrs liew will make me feel neutral about maths now....
several laughters today... FLEMING LEFT FINGER... hahas! point your 'gun' to someone.... -> physcis teacher immediately. but anyway, it was clear, thumb=motion, index=field, middle=current... hahas middle, my thumb and index cramp, wat happen? haha.
Me: wen wei... can i ask you a question? very awkward lei. very 不好意思,很难为情...
wenwei: 要问什么,敢敢问。不用紧的!敢敢问!问!
Me: 好啊... 是你说的。为何你要坐哪里?
wenwei: 我爽,可以吗?
Me: 为何你会爽?是jaslyn,cynthia还是myat noe?
the rest of the class... ROFL! hahas! 'wenwei like who ar? like who ar? who he liked ar?' filled the class... haha. mushy mushy woooooh!!! i know i know ooorrrrhhh!!!
anyway just to share... Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.
it takes lots of courage, lots of bravery to admit or to say just three word. it takes a lot of pump of the heart or heart beat to say this three word. I LOVE YOU!
so, wenwei... take of your mask lar... hahas. want to be courageous or daring, say out who you like loudly, proudly and clearly! and minghao will call you a MAN! 要做,敢敢做! 要说,敢敢说!
Conclusion to make today, the sense of being mindfulness is really different.

Today there was a venerable who came to my class and have a session of lesson with us. she share with us about what are sufferings, the four noble truth and the noble eight fold path. maybe the best thing i learnt from her was this thing... '....we suffer not for nothing but to understand what sufferings is about....' hmmm... she is right. sufferings, it is born with mankind.
Desires.

empty-vessel makes the most noise... hmmm...
this is what my tuition teacher said to me when asked 'how could energy exist when it is not created?' but could not answered his simple question... lol.
however, this aside, there is a saying goes, 'the usefulness of a cup is its emptiness.' this quotation is from Lao Tzu, the founder of taoism. this is a similar situation. it is the emptiness of the vessel that it is able to take in more. Knowledge is as vast as the ocean. knowlegde is as vast as the universe.
and hence, maybe i want to be an empty-vessel, a vessel that is forever empty, for nothing can filled me up and nothing is able to fill me up as i want to take in more. Let the vessel be eternally empty even as it is taking in knowledge. that amount of knowledge is as small as an electron and thus the vessel will still appear empty. let me be able to engulf all knowledge!

hmmm...
i like to comment on the report of NST 14/3/07 about the topic that a student who scored 15 points for O level and could not advance into the course(mass comunication) he liked in polythenic as student who qualify for jc chose to enter poly instead and hence lowering the cut of point of the course to 13. for more information please read the NST.
there was a reply on NST forum. basically, i would say this reply was absolutely. the reply mention that 's'pore is a meritocracy society' and the topic raises several doubts in me...
1) it was the vision of singapore education system to develop students to their fullest potential as studied in the social studies text in school.
2) is meritocracy system isolating failures?
3) when student of jc calibre chose to go to polythenic courses, and those of poly calibre will be knock out... where could there go? definitely they could not go to jc... drop out of school? ITE? no offence... what can they do? they have the potential there, but just that they are not the strongest in this competition of survival and neither they are weak or weakest.
Much questions are left unanswered.
i would like to highlight the system of meritocracy. i know it is a system whereby people are distinguished based on demonstrated ability and talent rather than by wealth, family connections, class privilege, cronyism, popularity (as in democracy) or other historical determinants of social position and political power.
i know that there is currently no perfect system for all. this could be because of the theory "nothing is perfect." however, since if nothing is perfect, this theory is not perfect and therefore, leaving space for perfection. there will be something that will be perfect.
to me, meritocracy means only the best can strive and hence, meritocracy creates inequality. no one wished to be born stupid. there will be those born without the ability or talent, and none should be blame. they can only strive through hard-working..... ...... ................
i am for equality when nothing is and could be equal in this world but afterall, meritocracy is the best system that manifest equality.
All can i say and want to say to this student is... move on. there will be always another door opened when one door closed. hoped. life goes on...

Happy 16th birthday Gilroy!
i want to highlight this incident that happened today. tuesday, the day our class have P.E. it was another day that we will be able to have the main basketball court in our school during our recess. it was the only day, tuesday, out of the five recess days since almost all of the other teachers enjoys taking our recess time.
this incident is extremely unpleasant. first come first serve was the basic courtesy or practice of the basketball court that i know. according to my past experience, calling next team for a place to play was not really a useful way to have a play in the main court. those who came first naturally have the rights to deny it, it is not stated but it is just a form of basic courtesy of us, that we should respect them, respect their effort they put in of trying to play in the main court. furthermore, this was the only day, only chance of the whole week to play together as a class, as 4/1. other days if we chose to play, was to occupy the side court.
and here comes, 'next team.' we explain that we only have this day to occupy the main court and will leave at 11.05am. i really appreciate those who are understanding and leave the court for the side court. and yes, they are, they did and i truly respect them. however, as they were playing, the ball was thrown in to the main court and land on one of my classmate, chang hong. yes, i know, it was an accident, no one in the right mind will do it on purpose. and i raise my volume politely to let them know and to tell those of playing at the side court not to play into the main court. it was a common practice. and in the first place, if it was lip kia or sheng wei being hit, 99%, considering their enormous ego, temper and as a basketball team vice-captains, yes, both of them, i could say they would shout(not raise their volume) and ask them to get the hell out of the main court.
i was polite because i was grateful to them for letting me and my class have the chance of playing in the main court, not out of fear. and hell just broke out. lip kia, my dear vice-captain, started bombarding 3-pointer a few times purposely at the main court ring.
oh! i seriously don't know why did he do that? given that he is the vice-captain of the basketball team, all the more he should know and understand the practice and courtesy in the basketball court! is he doing this because of his ultimately, extremely, enormous ego that he think he should be treated as a primma donna? or is he doing this for attention seeking? telling others how courageous he is? he was even trying to lead others to do what he did, and only sheng wei followed him. and once again, i'm grateful to those who did not add fuel to the fire. ivan for instance, did not budge at all.
i doubt he has accomplished all i have mention. he has lower his self-worth. he is behaving like a immature 8 year-old boy throwing a tantrum and not like a gentlemen. the action he did only reflect negatively what he is. he is not doing a right thing or doing a justice for himself. he may say we are selfish for not sharing the court. and come on, will you share your wife with others? somethings are not meant to be share, n one should understand that.
afterall, it just a basketball court. i really wonder why he did it. anyway i forgive him for what he does. he is still my friend and will always be.

most memorable thing today is going for the ACAREER fair at suntec. it's quite lame. no guide, no direction. ended up leaving after 30+ minute.
gazing up the blue sky before arriving at suntec, again felt the limitation of a human. how far can one ultimately can reached? it's so small.

the chemistry test today was ok. should be able to pass it.
1st of march, 34 weeks to O level and the secondary school life will end. time indeed past faster than one can realise.
got the warcraft C.D from mark. wanna play and have a taste of DOTA. Friends, buddies, pls teach me. hahas.
hahas. A maths teacher said my attitude was better in A maths class compare to E maths class. and i reply, i'm not so innocent de. E maths cannot drop whereas A maths can drop, so my attitude is more serious in A maths lesson. Don't know what will she think. hahas.
the real challenge of this day is what chang hong said, 'friends are meant to be used.' woah, i have to say that this statement is down right despicable, even though u are my friend, classmate for 4 years, therefore i should let u know and you must know. friends are meant to be cherish. For they are the ones who will stand by your side when you are in trouble. For, friends are people where you could share your achievement with. For, friends are those who support you. he even continue saying, if you did not want to be used, don't be my friend.
NEVER! CHANG HONG, PLEASE ACKNOWLEDGE AND ALWAYS REMEMBER THOSE 4 YEARS YOU HAVE SHARED WITH YOUR FRIENDS. PLEASE RECOLLECT ALL THOSE MOMENTS! YOU ARE WRONG.
